JOBS DESCRIPTION:

• Liaise with users and other departments to design, develop, maintain and implement computer applications
• Liaise with external and internal auditors on computer system audits
• Liaise with local or oversea vendors to support them from the beginning phase of SDLC till project go live (e.g. design/implementation/development/integration/testing/deployment and maintenance)
• Review existing methods, identify problems and evaluate alternative ways of solving the problems
• Construct information flow charts and design forms for purposes of recommending organizational and procedure improvement when necessary
• For in-house applications, prepare, code, test, debug, modify and document computer programs
• Ensure that user manual for all systems are in place in case the applications are out-source to vendor. Technical document from vendor should be demanded as stated in SOW for future reference and enhancement
• Provide application support for SIT/UAT/production systems to users, testers and developers (vendor in case of out-sourcing)
• Produce and update understandable application system architecture diagrams documents (e.g. servers connections, data flow between servers, communication ports opened etc.)
• Ensure that work assigned is properly carried out in accordance with established guidelines, procedures and instructions as well as instructed by the Line Manager or Top management

JOB REQUIREMENT:

• Degree in IT or related fields
• Minimum 3 years of working experience in application development in insurance or banking     & financial industry
• Knowledge in either mainframe, AS400, COBOL, Control Language and SQL Development
• Prior experience in LIFE/Asia (former Life/400) development is an added advantage
• Strong analytical ability and excellent communication skill 
• Good command of spoken and written English
